Marble Mtn. Sno-Park Feb. 26, 2012

Marble Mtn. Sno-Park 2800 ft.   Pine Marten, Sasquatch, Wapiti Meadows trails and couple others as well.

Here's the link to the map that's similar (not quite the same) to the one posted along the trail... http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5288545.pdf .  Unfortunately, it does not show the creeks which are kind of important.

Leslie and I drove to the Marble Mtn Sno-Park and skied the Pine Marten trail up the intersection with the Sasquatch Trail.   The snow was fresh and nice and dry.  Only one skier and a snow shoer were ahead of us.   At that point we decide to ski across the road to the Wapiti Meadow trails which we have not skied before.  No one had been there for a while so it was time to break trail.  But we ran into lots of running water...most of which we got across but at lunch we came to a Wapiti Meadow which was full of beaver ponds and too much open water so we turned back.  We also checked out the lower loops (245G and 245B) but were turned back because we could not get across the river.

It was a great day with good snow and even some patches of blue sky.

Bathroom Remodel - 2012

The bathroom remodel has started...let the fun begin.

Got a little demolition started.  Surveying the landscape for where and how to run the plumbing for the new second sink and the new circuit for the heated floor.
The new vanity cabinets have been purchased and the tile has been selected.

Kalama Ski Trail - Feb. 19, 2012

Kalama Ski Trail from Cougar Sno-Park (~2300ft) Sunday Feb. 19, 2012

Skied with Petra and David on the Kalama Ski trail.  There was a bit of new snow and it got deeper and better as we went.  We ended up turning around about 3/4 mile past the second snowmobile crossing...it seemed to be about the apex of the trail.

Worst Day of the Year 2012 ride...not so bad.  Dry and temps in the mid-40's.  We did the 45 mile option plus ~5 miles to and from Petra's house.  Very nice route.  Up through Washington Park, down from Sylvan to Tanasbourne REI then up Old Germantown, down Germantown and across the St. John's Bridge...then a meandering through town back to the Lucky Lab for beers and Chilli.

 54.5 miles. ? Avg. TZ= 1:47

First Road Ride of 2012-Champoeq 50+ mile Loop

57.7 miles 14.8 Avg
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/67208466  (mapped as 49 miles but we did some side trips)

We have some great dry and clear weather this weekend so we decided to get in some nice flat spinnng before the Worst Day of the Year ride next weekend.  Leslie, Bruce, Petra and I headed out from the Champoeq cemetery about 10 am and had a great ride.  It was forecast to be windy and it usually is windy on this ride but somehow we avoided  a headwind.

We stopped at the Willamette Mission State Park for lunch but had to back track on the bike path to the Wheatland ferry because the exit road was under water.
